Willem is a finance executive with a solid foundation in global financial management and over a decade of experience across various sectors. His expertise extends to M&As, system implementations, and the adoption of technical accounting standards. Beginning his career in auditing, Willem’s professional path has traversed through the pharmaceutical and property industries, where he has perfected a people-centric and collaborative leadership style, leading to significant team synergy. In the ticketing industry, Willem culminated in his role as CFO of the Traderplus group in South Africa at the time of its acquisition by FineLine Technologies. Since early 2021, he has been instrumental as the Corporate Controller at FineLine, managing international teams and overseeing functions such as global tax, audit, treasury, cost accounting, and technical accounting adoptions.
Willem earned his Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accounting from the University of Pretoria and an Honors Bachelor of Commerce (HBCom) in Accounting Science from the University of South Africa. He further advanced his expertise by achieving his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation from the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and his Chartered Management Accountant (CGMA) designation through CIMA in the UK. With dual qualifications as a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Management Accountant, Willem offers a distinctive approach that merges the principles of cost and financial accounting. In his spare time, Willem enjoys exploring the outdoors with his family and traveling to new designations.
