GS1 Connect

Nashville, TN – July 8, 2025 – FineLine Technologies, a leading provider of barcode and RFID integrated labels, tickets, and packaging, exhibited at GS1 Connect 2025, hosted June 10–12th at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, TN. The event attracted over 1,500 professionals across retail, healthcare, grocery, and logistics to explore how GS1 standards are driving supply chain efficiency, traceability, and innovation.

FineLine exhibited at Booth 209, engaging with attendees around RFID tagging, barcode labeling, compliance solutions, and serialized data management.

Key Highlights:

  • FSMA Rule 204 & Food Traceability: Temperature-sensitive goods require precise handling. Companies are turning to temperature monitoring and GS1-compliant labeling to enhance traceability to comply with FSMA 204, reduce spoilage, and ensure food safety from source to shelf. Sessions focused heavily on food safety, regulatory compliance, and end-to-end traceability. Topics included temperature monitoring, key data element (KDE) sharing, and 2D barcode adoption—all areas where FineLine’s RFID and barcode labeling solutions are critical.
  • DSCSA Compliance & Serialized Traceability: Serialization, exception management, and EPCIS-based data exchange are top priorities in pharma. FineLine’s support for accurate, standards-based labeling and traceability aligns with the urgent needs of this sector as compliance deadlines approach.
  • RFID Fueling Smarter Retail: RFID is now a cornerstone of retail innovation, driving inventory accuracy, omnichannel fulfillment, and customer engagement. Data-rich labeling enables better demand forecasting and product visibility from production to point-of-sale.
  • 2D Barcodes and Project Sunrise: With the transition to 2D barcodes underway, sessions emphasized best practices for design, placement, and data encoding. Attendees learned how dual-marking strategies (1D + 2D) and GS1 Digital Link formats support traceability, compliance, and consumer interaction.
  • Mobile RFID Scanning with Smartphones: The possibility of reading RAIN RFID tags with smartphones was a major topic. This advancement could open new doors for product authentication, traceability, and small business adoption. Challenges remain, especially around privacy and infrastructure, but the vision is promising.

The GS1 Connect event reinforced the need for flexible, digitized, and standards-driven supply chains. Technologies like RFID and 2D barcodes are no longer optional—they’re foundational for meeting modern regulatory requirements and delivering data-rich supply chain visibility.

FineLine Technologies is proud to help businesses meet these demands through GS1-compliant solutions for RFID tagging, barcode labeling, and data synchronization. Our high-quality, fast turnaround labeling solutions enable greater accuracy, traceability, and operational efficiency.
