Superba Case Study
When Superba, a division of the PVH Neckwear Group, began looking for an outsourced alternative for printing barcoded tags and labels, they turned to FineLine Technologies. Prior to retaining FineLine, Superba printed its own tags and labels at its manufacturing operations in Los Angeles. Many of its tags and labels were then shipped to Asia to be applied to finished products prior to delivery to it retail customers.
By utilizing FineLine as its outsourced provider, particularly FineLine’s printing facilities in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, Superba has been able to reduce turnaround times and costs in its labeling operation. The project commenced with FineLine producing tags for one major retailer and has expanded as Superba has gained confidence in FineLine’s abilities and capacity.
Superba was acquired by PVH in January, 2007. The acquisition of Superba’s neckwear business has helped make PVH the largest dress shirt and neckwear company in the world. Among the many national brands made by the Superba division are Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica and Perry Ellis Portfolio.
