Can I modify a barcode that has been sent to me?: We do not recommend that you attempt to modify the barcodes we have produced. If you feel that you need to modify the barcode, we suggest that you call us first and let us try to help you.
What information do I need to have available in order to place an order?: Different types of barcodes require different information. For a standard UPC, below is the information we need to create the barcode.:

-12 digit UPC number (see below for how to obtain the UPC number
-the required magnification; if not known, we need the dimensions for the code
-bar width reduction; typically, your pinter will know this information
-what file type you would like the barcode to be saved as; we generally use AI or EPS files, however we can also send PDF, JPG and Tiff.
What is the ordering process?: Once you have all the information you need, just email your order to us at orders@finelinetech.com . We will let you know if we have any questions about your order. What is the smallest barcode we can make?: The smallest we recommend is called an 80% magnification. This is approximately 1 inch in width and .816” in height. The barcode is measured from bar to bar for the width and from the bottom of the human readables to the top of the bars for height. The largest standard for a UPC is called a d200% magnification. This is approximately 2.47” wide and 2.04” tall.
What is the turnaround time on orders?: The vast majority of our orders are delivered back to you within one business day, often within one hour. It it will take longer than a day, you will be informed of the estimated turnaround.
Where do I get my ISBN number?: The ISBN Agency issues all ISBN numbers. Contact them at 1-877-310-7333
Where do I get my UPC number?: The GS1 organization (formerly known as the UCC) issues all manufacturer numbers. Contact them at 1-800-543-8137
