Beluga, Inc. is a division of Adjmi Apparel Group. Based in New York City, Adjmi Apparel Group was founded in 1976 as a children’s apparel importer and has grown into a major manufacturer operating four distinct companies; each with its own specific market. The Beluga collection is designed for newborn, infant and toddlers and offers the trendiest apparel in wearable styles for little boys and girls.

Prior to using FineLine as its primary supplier for barcoded tags and labels, Beluga allowed its factories overseas to order tags and labels from local suppliers. Problems associated with this arrangement included a lack of control over the process, lack of consistency with regards to paper stock, print quality and compliance with retailers’ specifications. Beluga’s management was not satisfied with this lack of consistency or with the level of chargebacks they were receiving from retailers related to ticketing issues.

FineLine Technologies now serves as Beluga’s primary supplier for tags and labels. All orders are placed by Beluga personnel in New York. Orders are then transmitted by FineLine to one of its production facilities in North America or Asia depending on the location of Beluga’s factory. Tags and labels are produced overseas when appropriate and shipped to Beluga’s factories. Order status is available to Beluga personnel as well as to its factories. By using FineLine, Beluga has one supplier to hold accountable for quality, turnaround and compliance with retailers’ specifications. By using FineLine, Beluga has improved the efficiency and profitability of its supply chain.
